Phi was founded as a specialist Summit consultancy – plugging the critical skills gap faced by trading and investment banks.

Phi opens our European nearshore centre in Romania and becomes the first provider of specialist Summit capabilities nearshore. We begin to develop strong capabilities for front office and quantative development.

Our long-standing relationship with Finastra crystallises into a formal partnership, and we install Summit software in our datacentre. We implement our first Summit Application Managed Service – fixed price against SLA’s. We deliver possibly the world’s largest ever Summit transformation project for a major global bank. Phi establishes Murex partnership and put our first consultants through their embedment programme. Training starts for our first wave of graduate hires in Bucharest.

We launch our Pricing and Risk practice to the market. Our specialist DevOps team is formed and our first nearshore Quant Development services go-live. We hired our first Front Arena and Sophis consultants and welcome Marcus Rule and Tom Kozlowski to our Executive Board.

We receive our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2018 certifications Phi hires its first Head of Sophis and Head of AMS. Soon after, our first Sophis AMS client is signed. Phi becomes an official Products Partner for Finastra. Our 2nd nearshore centre is established in Casablanca; a satellite location for our Quant Analytics and Sophis expertise. In response to Brexit we re-structure, with full subsidiaries in France, Germany, and APAC.

We become a certified Finastra Fusion Orbit partner for Summit. Application Managed Services and Implementations. Phi opens our first US Subsidary in New York, together with a Dubai hub to service our growing number of clients in the Middle East. Phi hires a head of Client Technology Services and we re-structure our non-vendor capabilities into five lines of business. Phi appoints our first head of Cloud technology services as we bring our AWS and Azure capabilities to the market as a differentiated LOB.
