Technical Business Analyst
For the past 4 years, we have been supporting one of the world’s largest Asian banking groups with a variety of cutting-edge, strategic initiatives – both maintaining and transforming their IT infrastructure. Specifically, our trusted client is the London-headquartered investment-banking arm of this AAA bank, commanding over 1.8 trillion USD in AUM and with over 50,000 employees globally.
Our support has spanned front to back-office functionality, across many key technology areas. Currently, Phi has a critical team in place, consisting of 6 technical consultants and 6 functional consultants, servicing the client’s award-winning middleware application – IKASAN. This Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is responsible for the transposition of vital data between applications, connecting global business areas and legal entities, and is renowned for its ultra-low latency and high information fidelity.
As the client moves towards the goal of commercialising this software solution, maintaining its 100% reliability is absolutely critical. With this goal in mind, Phi have been steadily expanding the ESB team. This highly skilled team has been tackling both run and enhancement initiatives and the client has expressed their great satisfaction at their work so far. Currently, the particular focus is around the client’s Fixed Income business, namely bonds and repos trading.
To further augment the team, Phi are searching for a Business Analyst to join the other functional experts and work in conjunction with technical colleagues to continually improve the IKASAN solution.
The primary duties of the BA will be to liaise with key users and stakeholders, gather functional system requirements and collaborate with technical colleagues to translate these into technical specifications. The consultant will also be involved in reporting documentation and testing responsibilities. This is a predominantly Middle Office (risk) and Back office (accounting, payments, settlements, trade confirmation and reconciliation) focused role.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a functional expert within Investment Banking, specifically with knowledge of the trade lifecycle in relation to Fixed Income products (Bonds and Repos), as well as Interest Rate Derivatives and Credit Derivatives. Previous project experience of data mapping and transformation is essential, as is technical experience with SQL, modelling languages (FpML, XML, XSD) and FIX interfaces.
