Sophis (Risk) Business Analyst - Remote
One of our clients is a multi-national banking group headquartered in Western Europe. With total assets worth over $1tn it is one of the largest banks in the world. A major participant in a variety of financial markets worldwide, it is also well known of its funding of sporting, arts and education. The group uses Fusion Sophis for Front Office, Back Office and Risk Management across equity and commodity derivatives. They are currently undergoing a major Fusion Sophis upgrade from version 6 to the latest 2021.3 version. This upgrade includes an implementation of the new ‘Risk Analytics Factory’ module, which includes cutting-edge functionalities for risk analysis including: performance attribution, performance calculation (ex-post), parametric VaR (ex-ante), stress testing and HVaR (absolute and relative).

This client has also planned a major digitalisation program cross-enterprise to strengthen its position as a digital leader in banking. Having hired a world-class Chief Technology Officer to drive this initiative for the business, the program will extend to the existing Sophis platform once the upgrade goes live. We are looking for a senior Sophis Risk Business Analyst to drive the implementation of the Analytics Factory module and its use post-upgrade. The analyst will have a key role in contributing to the design and project planning, as well as executing the deliverables and maintaining a close relationship with the business and technology teams at the client.

The ideal candidate 

  • We require a graduate of technology, finance or mathematics, with proven knowledge of the Risk areas of Sophis e.g. Risk Indicators, Volatility and Stress tests. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Analytics Factory module proven on recent versions from 7.2 onwards
  • The analyst will have experience working in a Business Analyst role and will possess a strong understanding of the financial products traded in the Capital Markets space as well as the business flow for Front Office, Back Office and Risk. A basic understanding of the Oracle database schema, scripting, Windows and the Sophis services will be preferred. Finally, the consultant must be a good team player with a positive attitude and an ability to successfully multi-task
