Murex Front Business Analyst – Paris, France
One of the clients Phi is supporting is a Tier-1 investment bank, which is one of the largest banks in Europe, with offices across the EU, Asia and North America. The client is a major contributor in Capital Markets and operates within a range of numerous Financial Services. The bank is trading in Equities, Fixed Income, Credit, Interest Rate Derivatives and Commodities across its business using a variety of vendor trading technologies.

Programme

The bank currently feature a very complex IT Architecture, and as the client is looking to increase efficiency and operations across the bank. As part of their FRTB program, the bank undertook a massive change project with a view of removing from their 3rd party trading application the calculation of Risk, Pnl and Pricing into a Xasset proprietary platform which has started 3 years ago. The client is now planning an exceptionally challenging programme to migrate all Fixed Income and commodities activities from the various existing third party trading applications such as Summit and Sophis.   Within this respect, Murex will be the platform used to manage Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives and Credit Derivatives as well as FX and Commodities within the bank’s Capital Markets businesses going forward for the foreseeable future. The client will be undergoing a phase 1 migration onto the Murex platform. At the moment, Phi is supporting the bank’s complex infrastructure by contributing ongoing support to the bank’s BAU trading activities with their current systems. The bank is looking for technical and functional consultants to help achieve this goal to migrate from their current systems to Murex to allow successful on boarding of the asset classes for the next 5 to 6 years.

Responsibilities

  • Phi is looking to on-board a team of highly skilled Murex Front Office Business Analysts with an understanding of the Murex configuration around Fixed Income, Rates products, and Derivatives to work alongside our client’s RTB and CTB function
  • You will be expected to oversee the full front to back Migration from the variety of platforms to Murex to allow successful on-boarding of the asset classes whilst contributing ongoing support in BAU trading activities post Murex implementation
  • In addition, you will be overseeing the full front office delivery stream of this large, multi-year systems transformation program. As one of the Business Analysts on the team, you will be administering the gap between the traders from all major trading desks and the technical teams, as you gather, analyse, interpret the requirements from the business, and transform them into technical specifications for the development teams
  • The consultant will also be expected to liaise with the quantitative team to perform PnL and cash flow analysis when required

Requirements

  • As a member of the delivery team, the client is looking for Analysts with more than 5 years of past proven experience working on complex Murex implementations and migrations
  • In addition, someone with a strong understanding of Fixed Income, Rates products, Credit Derivatives, FX and Commodities with regards to how they are configured in Murex
  • The Business Analyst should express knowledge of pricing and risk in addition to end-to-end workflow of a trade in the Murex platform in the Front Office
  • It would be ideal for the consultant to have past proven experience in supporting external systems by explaining MxML message structure
