Java e-trading SWAPS Pricing Expert
Location: London, UK
Phi is a tier 1 strategic supplier of consultancy services to the investment banking division of one of the world’s largest Asian banks with 1.8 trillion USD AUM and over 50,000 employees. Our client is headquartered in London and has global operations across Asia and Americas.
Following on to the mandatory London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) transition to Risk Free Rates (RFRs) the client had to implement changes in their pricing and risk calculation engines. These changes led to an upgrade of their existing in-house Pricing Analytics Library (PAL), consequently impacting on how SWAP curves are built and prices are calculated.
In the client environment, front-end users work on a cutting-edge e-trading platform that is written in Java, and that receives pricing information, funnelled into the application from a tailored in-house PAL. Because of these changes, the client is now planning to re-engineer the SWAP pricing engine to avoid complications and disruptions for end users. In addition, the client will be looking at integrating the changes related to SWAPS into the e-trading platform.
We are supporting the client on this initiative and we are looking for an experienced Java Developer that will take the responsibility of making sure that all the above works smoothly. The Java Developer will be liaising and working in cooperation with brilliant teams of professionals, including Quants, small technical teams of Traders and other Software Developers, to understand what is not working and fix what is creating any complications for end-users.
The Developer will be working on supporting the electronic trading systems used by the Rates Derivatives and Cash desks, with tasks ranging from small enhancements to full scale implementations. In particular, the Developer will be responsible for building SWAP curves and integrating the changes related to SWAPS into the electronic trading platform.
The Developer will be required to develop software using an Agile delivery process, adhering to correct standards for documentation, UAT testing and System testing. They will keep close communication with the technical architects and support all implemented solutions including incident and defect management.
Phi is looking for a candidate that is an expert Java Developer with experience working on a SWAPS pricing platform in the past. The candidate must possess expert knowledge of SWAPS pricing and a strong understanding of Fixed Income products, as well as broad knowledge of open source Java libraries and frameworks. They will be capable of working within a high pressure environment and able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. An understanding of how Quants define and create pricing is also important, as is strong communication skills.
This is a great opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within the premium technology infrastructure of a Tier1 multinational Investment Bank. This is an exciting role for someone that is looking forward to sit in the front-office environment of one of the most well-equipped banks worldwide, both in terms of technology and brilliant IT personnel.
